I feel in love with it form the first moment we met. It’s a city within a city. It sort of floats an entire level above the rest of London, connected to the rest of civilisation by a bridge or two. It’s some kind of very tall, very grey  and very maze-shaped utopian version of the future. If you asked someone in the 60’s what the city of the future would be like, the Barbican hands-down be it. It has a school, a church, a greenhouse, an art gallery, offices, gym, performance venue and concert hall, a park, a garden, many many very concrete flats, all connected by a maze of skywalks (these amazing concrete bridges just floating in the air). To cheer up this whole very grey situation I went for a monochrome look with a lot of contrast and some seriously crisp whites.

But less about the what I am wearing and more about the why. Spring is coming. Apparently. Although it’s still winter outside. So many changes are on the horizon, but for the moment I am going to focus on the changing skies. One thing at a time, right? If you like gambling, come live in London. Every day, I get up, get dressed appropriately for the weather and two hours later I am either face-planting into the floor from heat exhaustion or dreaming of a hot shower because my feet are soggy, my clothes are soggy, my hair is soggy and the contents of my bag are also probably soggy. Layering is the name of the game. So springtime is the season where I haul my own body-weight in clothes on a daily basis so that I can layer up like a cabbage and be ready for any rain, wind or nasty weather magic that London decides to throw at me.
