Carrying on from all the fishy business in my previous post, here is the latest LFW post which wraps my SS16 season in London, before I skip off to Paris for Paris Fashion Week.
What did you want to be when you were a kid?
I always ask my friends in hopes their childhood career goals were weirder than mine. This never ever happens. Most kids wanted to be somewhere between a fire-fighter, a pilot or an astronaut. There were also a few teachers and aspiring singers. I wanted to be a mermaid. I felt it was an ambitions goal; up there with space exploration. Unfortunately my primary school admissions department didn’t see it that way. Needless to say, I ended up at a different school… Whoops.
Fast forward 20 odd years and despite my best efforts, neither my career as a mermaid nor the fish tail to go with it ever quite materialised. I even got my PADI Open Water Diver licence the moment I hit my 15th birthday…but even that didn’t seem to help… And then last week I was this shiny-shiny Ginger and Smart dress and my first thought was, “Guys, better late than never!”. Closely followed by “I am never taking this off!”.
Childhood goal fulfilled! Next on the list: retiring to Fiji by 35.
