During our stay at the hotel we got to discover a different suite every night to truly experience as much of Dar Ayniwen as possible. And I think this room was my favourite by far (first picture). Like the other rooms it had plenty of amazing character, intricate detailing and traditional craftsmanship, but it came with a bonus – the view. Nested high above the grounds, in the tallest part of the building, this room offered perfect views of the garden and the endless landscape of palm trees stretching into the horizon.

After watching the sun go down over the Palmeraie, I had half a mind to take up take up permanent residence on the balcony and watch the srars in the night sky. Unfortunately, hunger (yup, you guessed it, the amazing Dar Ayniwen quail tagine for dinner) and sleep got the best of me. And I curled up in bed to try and make my batteries last as long as my camera’s the next day.
