From here we navigated towards the beach and the impressive array of ice cream shops lining it. I have this theory, that the first ice cream shop you get to on a beach is never the best, because that’s where most people naturally go – so it doesn’t need to impress. So, with my new dietary resolve out the window, I picked a shop further along – the Oreo ice cream was delicious. I love t Oreo ice cream, then again, who doesn’t. And they all seem to do this standard deal, 10 flavours in a tub for 5 Euros!

The evenings in Nerja are cool and pleasant compared to the heat of the day and the light is perfect. So if you find yourself in Nerja around sundown, head over to Balcon de Europa to watch the sun go down behind the Andalusian mountains. Anyway, I feel I’ve explored the best of what this beach town has to offer, so stay posted for the next stop on my Andalusian adventure.
