My next stop in Croatia and the next stop on my Game of Thrones tour was Qarth, aka Dubrovnik. And if you have been following my Croatia journey (an not just Croatia!) you’ll likely spot that I am wearing the same dress I was in one of my previous posts from Hvar. Because my wardrobe aspirations far outstrip both my budget and the size of my carry-on.
This All Saints dress is a trooper and a perfect day-to-night piece. Accordingly it has racked up more mileage travelling the world in my carry-on than most gap yah students. And if you would like to know why I never pack a hold bag, just read my bio, or any of my posts bemoaning lost luggage. I have a 75% lost luggage hit rate. Of all the luggage I check in, 75% of the time it gets lost, misplaced, ends up on a different continent, ends up going on an adventure of it’s own… The three conclusions that can be drawn from this bitter and expensive experience are:
1. Versatile clothes that can take you from beach to black tie are life savers. Buy them in multiples. Of at least 3.
2. But what does this luggage do when it flies off mysteriously, to take a vacuum the other side of the planet?! Pixar needs to make a film about this.
3. With the luck I’m having I clearly need to start playing the lottery.
That’s it form me for today, gotta run to the corner shop to get my shot at those millions.
