Ever been in that awkward relationship that’s been over a good long while, but you don’t quite know how to summon up the courage to end it?
Yeah… you know what I’m talking about. That gorgeous date-night skirt you can’t sit in, eat in… or even breathe in without ripping stitches or cracking some ribs. What about those shoes you wear exclusively between your taxi and your table? Everyone familiar? I think so. Right kids, it’s time to say bye bye.
If you can’t run, dance and most importantly breathe your clothes, shoes and other fashion paraphernalia, it’s time to dump their ass. Comfort and usability is the new awesome. I travel, a lot. It takes it’s toll and I don’t need my wardrobe to be adding to the strain and discomfort. Cue asymmetric leathers which won’t give up on you at the first sight of a burger or London weather.
In an attempt to practice what I preach, my wardrobe and my shoe library have seen a few recent additions: flat shoes that are comfortable enough to walk the cobblestoned streets of Rome all day but quirky enough to make a statement. And don’t forget the geometric white skirts, which work as summer all-rounders and winter accents.
Let your wardrobe accommodate your lifestyle, not the other way round.
