The amazing things to see in Iceland are all out there, not so much in Reykjavik. So I just came back every night after a long, cold, windy and wet day to curl up with a hot water bottle and go though all the shots I managed to get throughout the day.

I did do a walk around the town though, and yes, I do mean walk. The place is absolutely tiny. Everything is very walkable, there isn’t much going on, and before I knew it I was out on the grassy field, coming put onto the black sand volcanic beach. One point of interest that’s definitely worth a visit is Harpa, the opera house new-build with amazing polarised glass that plays in the light like an iridescent bug shell.

One thing I did learnt hough is that if you want to really see Iceland, don’t base yourself in Reykjavik. It’s a good 3 hour drive to get out and see some of Iceland’s amazing sites. Move around each day, so you don’t have to spend hours getting back home.
