Vernazza, Corniglia & Monterosso Al Mare, Cinque Terre

Another in the series of posts about the 5 towns of Cinque Terre I visited last year. Although famous for being the most beautiful of the Cinque Terre towns, in 2011 a massive landslide tore through the main street and the marina of this mountain-side town. Last year I went on a short trip to the absolutely incredible Cinque Terre. This is one of the first of a UNESCO World Heritage sites I have planned to visit, and all of the 5 Cinque Terre town as well as the surrounding mountains are UNESCO recognised for their natural beauty. Riomaggiore, Cinque Terre

This was the town I spent most of my time in, staying in a hotel perched high up on the side of the cliff. I spent the evenings watching the sunset over the water, eating fresh local produce from the fruit stalls and little pizza places and walking down the cobble-stoned main street.
