Happy New Year. These photos were shot at Skógafoss in Iceland. This wall of water is officially one of my favourite places on the planet. For me travel is a lot like watching films or reading books. Most films and books focus on the plot, so once I already know what happens I don’t want to watch or read that plot again. And if I already passed trough a place I don’t really want to go back until I’ve forgotten what that place is like.
But, this place is like one of those rare books that written more like poetry than prose, where the words matter more than what they describe. Same with film, where the photography is almost more important than the plot. This place is like that. I just keep wanting to go back and stare at that wall of water and wander around the Skogar river basin in all the water mist. So, here’s to a Happy New Year, and encountering more places like this one on my travels.
